Social Business Academia Conference

CALL FOR PAPERS

9th Social Business Academia Conference 2020
Bogota, Colombia

November 5-6, 2020

A recent Oxfam report indicates that the world's richest 1% receive 82% of the global wealth. In the last 10 years, the wealth of the richest has increased dramatically. In contrast, public services have been suffering from persistent funding shortages. In many countries, access to better quality education, healthcare, and other basic necessities is increasingly becoming a luxury to the majority of the population. Around 32% of global children under five years of age are suffering from malnutrition. These have long-term implications for the future of children. Moreover, poor people are likely to die ten or twenty years earlier than rich people. The above-mentioned aspects contribute to the widening of the extent of inequality in societies. Consequently, the achievement of sustainable development goals (SDGs) becomes difficult. The concept of Social Business has been initiated and promoted by the Founder of the Nobel Peace Prize-winning “Grameen Bank” and Nobel Peace Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus could be seen as the “solution” to the above-mentioned problems facing the world today. The details of the principles of social business developed by Professor Yunus are available HERE.
