Social Business Academia Conference

The global wealth concentration problem is getting worse as the wealth gap between the rich and the poor is rising every day. The estimates of OXFAM show that the amount of wealth ownership of only eight men and the poorest half of the world is the same. The top 1% richest individuals own more wealth than the remaining 99%. On the other hand the environment is heavily getting polluted due to greater dependence on plastic owing to its inexpensive and durability characteristics. Plastic pollutes land, waterways, and oceans and it's profoundly affecting sustainable livelihood and health of all human beings on earth. Both, wealth concentration and plastic pollution, are the outcomes of the selfishness nature of businesses under the current system of capitalism. The concept of social business promoted by Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus is an answer to both above-mentioned problems.  The details of the principles of social business developed by Professor Yunus are available HERE.

The 8th Social Business Academia Conference (SBAC 2019), an interdisciplinary conference to be held on November 5-6, 2019, would like to focus on how social business can overcome existing socio-economic problems in the world. The conference is devoted to the ongoing development of theory and research on social business and its impact on societies around the world.
