SBAC 2017

Social Business Academia Conference 2017

8-9th November, 2017
Paris, France

Definition of Social Business:

All papers to be submitted to the SBAC 2017 need to follow mandatorily the definition of social business given by Professor Muhammad Yunus (Non-dividend company to solve human problems). They follow the seven principles of social business.

These are: (1) Business objective will be to overcome poverty, or one or more problems (such as education, health, technology access, and environment) which threaten people and society. (2) Financial and economic sustainability. (3) Investors get back their investment amount only; no dividend is given beyond investment money. (4) When investment amount is paid back, company profit stays with the company for expansion and improvement. (5) Gender sensitive and environmentally conscious. (6) Workforce gets market wage with better working conditions. (7) Do it with joy.

It is important also to explain clearly how the project mentioned in the case is going to overcome a specific human problem in any or several of the following areas, such as education, health, environment, technology along with poverty which threaten people and society.
