Coming out of a situation with internal conflicts in the 1990s, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) has undergone a process of physical, economic and social reconstruction. Unemployment rate in BiH has reached the level of 42,9% in 2015 from which 26.8% are women.

How does the social business solve this problem?

Udruzene’s mission is to help women who have suffered from war, violence and social marginalization in the past. It uses knitting as a way to confront war traumas and reintegrate women into society, through economic and psychosocial empowerment.

Udruzene produces professional quality of Handicraft products through knitting and crocheting for fashion brands and designers for several countries such as Germany, Japan, Norway, and Italy.
