Chittagong Social Business Centre Limited (CSBCL) is a facilitation and advisory company for developing social business and entrepreneurs for self-employment. Many other social business centres are university research center based, or local government supported; But CSBC is a citizen consensus based, citizen forum initiative, it is a company itself under the existing Company Act of the country, here in Bangladesh. It is not an NGO. It does not seek any donation, any government subsidy. It is formed by shareholders money, making it Social Business through internal resolution. It is subject to tax payment and any other usual company regulations. It is projected to be a centre and city hub for anything common social problem but in a business way. It is an experiment, an idea whose time has come. Just because it may fail, may not be a good reason for not trying it. That we may succeed may be enough to try it out!
