Grameen Crédit Agricole Social Business Fund Launched in Luxembourg

On Thursday, November 15, Professor Muhammad Yunus presented a keynote address at the ‘Microfinace European Platform’ in Neumünster Abbaye, Luxembourg.
Later in the evening, ‘Prix Européen de la microfinance 2012’ (European Microfinance Awards 2012) was given to ‘Aski’, a microfinance organization from the Philippines at the Head Office of the European Investment Bank (BEI).
Under the High Patronage of HRH Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg and Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus, the award - a grant of 100,000 Euro - was given by the Luxembourg Ministry for Development Aid.
The next day, the first Board Meeting of the Grameen Crédit Agricole Social Business Fund was held at the Grameen Crédit Agricole Microfinance Foundation office. This is a Euro 20 million fund created to invest in social businesses focusing on Europe and North Africa.
