Haiti is one of the most environmentally degraded countries in the world, and deforestation is the core developmental, social and environmental issue, leading to rampant poverty-related consequences for the island and its population. The forest cover in Haiti decreased dramatically over the past 30 years and currently covers less than 2% of Haiti.

Palmis Eneji commercializes and distributes affordable, safe and clean energy solutions for the most vulnerable people living in Haiti without access to reliable sources of energy. This will prevent further deforestation for charcoal production and provide health benefits for Haitian families.

The social business works as a social micro-franchise and has different distribution channels; franchise affiliates who can use the brand, independent resellers, key accounts and its own retail shops. As of today, Palmis Eneji has helped Haitian 15,000+ households to save 7,575+ tons of carbon dioxide emissions and saved 2,800+ tons of trees from being processed into charcoal.
