What is the problem the social business is solving?

Malnutrition for low incomes families is a common problem in Costa Rica. Especially the risk of “hambre oculta” (hidden hunger) represents a fundamental problem, which can cause long term damage to the health of infants.

Nutrivida is an initiative that aims to eradicate the issue of malnutrition in Central America by supplying nutritious products at a low cost. These products include an infant cereal, an instant chicken soup and a nutritious powdered drink and are aimed at those members of society who may not be able to afford three nourishing meals per day.

Nutrivida locally produces and distributes food products rich in vitamins and minerals. The products are sold through traditional sales channels as well as a network of women from low income communities.
