YSBC alliance  of 8 universities in Taiwan Meeting with government for USR policy

In order to combine the resources of industry, government and academia to create a good future. The Foundation for Yunus Social Business Taiwan held a forum on March 15th. The President of Foundation for Yunus Social Business Philippa Thai invited the eight universities that have been established Yunus Social Business Centre (YSBC), the YSBCs attended this forum including:

Chang Jung Christian University
National University of Kaohsiung
National Quemoy University
National Pingtung University of Science and Technology
National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology
Soochow University
National Taichung University of Science and Technology

Besides, Legislative Yuan (it is the highest legislature in Taiwan) and Education Department also participated in this forum. It discussed three topics including Implement of International University Social Responsibility (USR), entrepreneurship cooperation between teacher and student and internship plan of localized voluntary service. In this Forum, the official of the department of education announce the related policy and subsidy plan. Meanwhile, the YSBCs reported their plan results and the aims in the future. Yunus social entrepreneur is an effective manner to create social responsibility and internationalization for university. It also shows that the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations and the three zero mission that was promoted by Professor Yunus have the same spirit. Defining the direction and performance indicators of social responsibility.

From 2018, The Foundation for Yunus Social Business Taiwan construct ‘I am here! Venture Dialogue’ to organized 6 social enterprise proposal competitions by YSBCs to collect 71 projections. Some projections have been completed. In the future, The Foundation for Yunus Social Business Taiwan will link resource of 70 YSBCs in the world to cultivate social entrepreneur. Promote social enterprises to solve social problems.
