Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Calls on Yunus

Dr. Kodela Siva Prasada Rao, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh called on Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus at Yunus Centre today.
Dr. Rao visited Bangladesh especially to invite Professor Yunus to address the political leaders and the high level government officials on development issues as well as to address the upcoming National Women’s Parliament (NWP) on February 10 -12, 2017 which has as a theme ‘Empowering Women for Nation Building’.
The event is being hosted by Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly with support support Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) and Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU). All women members of Indian Parliament and Legislative Assembly of all states of India along with about 10,000 spirited girl students of higher education from all over India will participate in the event.The event will take place in Amravati, the newly created capital of Andhra Pradesh after the state has handed over the old capital of Hyderabad to the newly created state of Telangana.
It may be noted that Professor Yunus will be in Andhra University as the Chief Guest at the International Symposium on Social Business on January 5, 2017 organized by Andhra University. The university has already set up a Yunus Social Business Centre to offer courses on social business.
