Professor Yunus honored with Concordia Leadership Award

Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus On Tuesday, September 20, 2016 awarded Concordia Leadership Award 2016 on the second day of two day leadership summit in New York. The award ceremony was held during the dinner to celebrate the 2016 Summit held at Cipriani in New York City. José Manuel Durão Barroso, former President of the European Commission and former Prime Minister of Portugal handed over the prize to Professor Yunus.
The 2016 Concordia Leadership Award recognizes global leaders within the public, private, and nonprofit sectors who inspire others through their ability to turn vision into impact. Recipients of the award reflect a commitment to positive social and economic change while promoting effective public-private collaboration to create a more prosperous and sustainable future.
The Concordia Summit convenes the world’s most prominent business, government, and nonprofit leaders to enable effective partnerships for impact. Thought leaders and innovators gather at this global affairs forum to examine the world’s most pressing challenges and identify avenues for collaboration. This year’s summit speakers included 1.
