Social business to solve social problems: Yunus
Nobel Laureate Dr Muhammad Yunus said these while addressing as chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of 3-day programme organised marking the 180th anniversary of Chittagong Collegiate School at the school premises on Saturday.
Dr Yunus said people do business for personal profit and all business in the globe have the same objective. But, business can be run without profit.
“Debate centring the concept is going on across the globe. The profit will be used for expansion of the business, which will be for welfare of others and solving problem of people and country,” he said.
The Nobel Laureate expressed willingness to establish a nursing college in Chittagong under social business initiative.
“We have taken a land from CDA in Ananya Residential area and will start construction of the college by next year.
Local daily Azadi Editor and Chittagong Collegiates President MA Malek presided over the ceremony also addressed by the programme celebration committee Convener Amir Humayun Mahmud Chowdhury and member Secretary Mostak Hossain among others.
