লন্ডনের কিংস কলেজে চালু হলো ইউনূসের সামাজিক ব্যবসা কেন্দ্র

লন্ডনের ঐতিহ্যবাহী কিংস কলেজে বুধবার ‘ইউনূস সামাজিক ব্যবসা কেন্দ্র’ প্রতিষ্ঠা করা হয়েছে। ইউনূস সেন্টারের নির্বাহী পরিচালক লামিয়া মোর্শেদ সংবাদ মাধ্যমে পাঠানো এক বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এই তথ্য জানিয়েছেন।
লামিয়া মোর্শেদ জানান, কিংস কলেজের সঙ্গে একটি সমঝোতা স্মারক স্বাক্ষর হয়েছে। এর মাধ্যম ইউনূস সামাজিক ব্যবসা কেন্দ্র এই কলেজের ছাত্র ও শিক্ষকদের মধ্যে সামাজিক ব্যবসার উপর গবেষণা এবং সামাজিক ব্যবসার ধারণা ও চর্চাকে এগিয়ে নেওয়ার কাজ করবে।
বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে আরও জানানো হয়, গ্লাসগো ক্যালেডোনিয়ান ইউনিভার্সিটি ও স্যালফোর্ড ইউনিভার্সিটির পর কিংস কলেজে প্রতিষ্ঠিত এই নতুন সামাজিক ব্যবসা কেন্দ্রটি যুক্তরাজ্যে তৃতীয় ইউনূস সামাজিক ব্যবসা কেন্দ্র এবং বিশ্বব্যাপী প্রফেসর ইউনূসের সঙ্গে যুক্ত ক্রমবর্ধমান সামাজিক ব্যবসা কেন্দ্র নেটওয়ার্কের ২৭তম সদস্য।
লন্ডন ও ঢাকার মধ্যে ভিডিও কনফারেন্সের মাধ্যমে সমঝোতা স্মারক স্বাক্ষর অনুষ্ঠানটি পরিচালিত হয়। সমঝোতা স্মারক অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন, কিংস কলেজ লন্ডনের ডিরেক্টর অব অনট্রাপ্রিনিয়রশিপ ইনস্টিটিউট জুলি ডেভনশায়ার, কলেজের হেড অব অনট্রাপ্রিনিয়রশিপ আনান্দানা বকশী প্রমুখ। এছাড়া ইউনূস সেন্টারের পক্ষে উপস্থিত ছিলেন প্রফেসর মুহাম্মদ ইউনূস, লামিয়া মোর্শেদ ও আমির খসরু।

This new Centre at KCL makes it the third centre in the UK after Glasgow Caledonian University and Salford University and becomes part of a growing network of social business centres, linked with Professor Muhammad Yunus, around the world, bringing the total number of such to 27 in different countries.

YSBCs develop and offer courses on social business for the students and business executives, facilitate research in social business. The centers also serve as connecting hubs among academics, social business entrepreneurs and students who are interested in the practice of social business. A global social business academia conference will bring together the representatives of these centres on November 9-10, 2016 at HEC Paris.
